FORENSIC INVESTIGATION SERVICES

ENTEK  provides timely, accurate, and cost-effective forensic investigation services encompassing the complete range of environmental and engineering issues.

ENTEK has been retained by insurance companies, law firms, public agencies, and other consultants to provide forensic investigation services including: site investigations, environmental investigations, remediation design and project management, cost auditing, health and safety investigations, forensic and materials testing and  building failure analysis.  ENTEK has been involved in insurance claims ranging from $20,000 to over $1 billion.

Site Investigations

ENTEK provides site investigations following a loss to determine the cause of the loss.  These losses have involved fires, explosions, vessel failures, natural disasters, design errors, building failures and equipment malfunctions.  ENTEK’s staff has specialized environmental, health and safety  training enabling them to  gain access on sites that have become regulated due to an environmental or safety condition.

Environmental Investigations

ENTEK conducts environmental investigations that include hazardous material assessments, remediation methods inspections and evaluations, and environmental impact assessments.  These services cover a variety of issues that effect both building issues as well as land and water issues.  Building issues include: water migration, mold and mildew (microbial) growth, pesticides, hazardous chemicals, asbestos PCB’s, lead and lead-based paint.  Land and water issues may include migration of hazardous chemicals, underground storage tanks, leaking underground storage tanks (LUST’s) from adjoining properties and airborne chemical migration.

ENTEK’s environmental investigation not only establishes the extent of environmental concerns but can also delineate between loss related vs. pre-existing conditions wear and tear issues, effects of long term water intrusion and poor building maintenance.

Health & Safety Investigations

ENTEK performs health and safety investigations relating to industrial accidents, workplace exposures,  and personal injury litigation. These investigations include equipment failure analysis, air monitoring, noise assessment, and evaluation of policies/procedures. Our services also include risk assessment and determination of exposure levels for contaminants such as microbials, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and volatile organic compounds.

Forensic & Materials Testing

ENTEK provides forensic and materials testing for particle size determination, product testing, air and water particulate identification, raw material analysis, structural failure evaluation, metallurgic evaluation, and asbestos analysis of air, water, and bulk samples.

       Building Failure Analysis

ENTEK provides field investigations, computer simulations, and structural modeling and calculations to determine the cause of building failures ranging from catastrophic structural failures to individual component failure.

ENTEK  also provides structural engineering and AutoCAD drafting services for repairs to failed buildings.

Cost Auditing Services

ENTEK provides cost auditing services to fully evaluate the costs associated with a loss.  This includes labor cost evaluation, materials used in  remediation and reconstruction, evaluation of expediting costs and project management costs.

Expert Witness Services

ENTEK principals are experienced in negotiating  scope and cost issues relating to insurance losses, typically saving clients millions of dollars.  We provide expert witness testimony as part of litigation services.
